Witch of Winter - An Cailleach
The Cast and Team spent a week in July on residence in Garter Lane working together to develop an aesthetic and to explore materials and research related to An Cailleach, the Witch of Winter. We were working together to create a show for children aged 8 and up.
We explored puppetry, performance, music, dance, lighting and props to find ways to present nature, weather & wildness on stage. Witch of Winter is based on the Irish myth of The Cailleach. The Cailleach is associated with the creation of the rugged Irish landscape and with the weather, especially storms.
