The School of Night by Peter Whelan
Directed by John Bashford
Lighting Design by Amber Waller

One of the most famous wordsmiths of all time, Christopher Marlowe, or ‘Kit’ as he’s known to his friends, is a hunted man. Accused of atheism, Kit is also the supposed holder of a list of members of
The School of Night, a secret society centred around Sir Walter Raleigh, infamous for its exploration of scientific and theological questions.

As the noose tightens around Kit’s neck, it is only Rosalinda Benotti, the Venetian leading lady from his latest play, Dido & Aeneas, who believes in him. A gripping exploration of political pressure and espionage, Peter Whelan’s The School of  Night also investigates the myriad motivations which drive a great artist.

Cast: Matthew Canny, Adam Scott Rowley, David Young, Kayla Meikle, Joseph Prowen, Laura Schofield, Aaron Vodovoz, Tom Morley, Joe Sartee, Tom York.
