West Side Story
By Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Spndheim
Friday 19th of March to 6th April 2010
West Side Story transports Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to the turbulent streets of the Upper West Side in 1950's New York City as two star-crossed lovers, Tony and Maria, find themselves caught between the rival street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds, the "Jets" and the "Sharks."
A brilliant young cast of 40 supported by a 20-piece live orchestra will perform music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and choreography by Jerome Robbins -- a trio of the most luminous musical theatre talents of the last century.
